Never forgetting the black Frank White

....the beginning of Busta's verse freaks me out....like...pedo-peekaboo level...

Im leaving New York

Only temporarily...I'm off to LA for a few need days of rest and good friends....oh that and I'm in an art show..so thats cool...regardless...New York..as much as you've been my home since 9..I'm starting to hate what you've become...Although this video was shot in Tokyo..I miss days like this.

I hope you're less when I get back. I also hope you get the cops to quit harassing the locals and start arresting all the drunk assholes who crowd the bars and restaurants I used to go to and made my friends rents so high they need two jobs....I hate you...I miss you...come back.

Super Cat - Big Dolly My Baby

Beats 1

Hey folks. Just been super busy lately. I made this mix a week or so ago. I personally love just listening to instrumentals from classic hip hop tracks. Some producers really don't get enough credit for the level of detail that pushes a track over the top from a hot song to a classic masterpiece. Here are some that come to mind.

Enjoy!

Hood Tuesday Part Double Up

I'm a pretty big Project Pat fan (three of his joints were on that "Real South" shit I put up a while back), but here is a much more flushed out version. With subject matter floating between running trains robbing to eat saving hoes, there is no doubt that this dude knows whats really really right now, and yes. Most of his album covers look like this. A lot of his new stuff isn't too great, I left the album titles on all the songs so if you like the jams cop the album. The albums are pretty banging back to front. If its the day that comes after tuesday, its gotta be hood.

Double Dose of that Hood Tuesday pimp-pamp, dose 1

Hi friends. Didn't make it last week so this week I'm here with a double bling bang of that Hood Tuesday boye. Part one is one of my favorite times of the past few years...when the Dips damn near took over. The fact that they didn't is still amazing to me, regardless. Everyone knows the mixtapes, these are some of the best jams off the actual albums which were pretty fire as well. Part two coming later, and remember, if its tuesday, its gotta be hood.

CAGE - "I Never Knew You"

Shia LeBeouf (Transformers) directed this new video for Cage. I guess dudes been a long time fan of Cage, and now that he's somewhat famous, he's trying to help Cage get into the limelight. Cage's style changed. A lot. Voice is still on point though. And for some reason they bring up Eminem, like that beef is still relevant. Whatever it takes I guess to get MTV fans interested in a white rapper. Video features cameos from other Jukies.

Milo Goes To College

Milo (above) may have gone to college when I was a mere babe, but this album got me through high school. This must be a precursor to my homage to SST records.

Shout out to Mike Sarpy for refreshing my memory.

Motherlover - Dirty

I know this has already crossed the far reaches of the internet and back but I thought I'd post it anyways. It's weird that we've reached a point in time that the parodies of popular music are in essence better music.

Little Tokyo

Didn't really think I was going to post this, but I made a mix for a lady friend upon request. Thought I'd share it with everyone else. Maybe you or your lady friend will like it. Maybe you already have all these songs. Maybe it's wack. Maybe I don't care.

Hood Tuesday Big Head Edition

From the desk of the biggest head in the Mixtape game I offer up two of the og Cluemanatti tapes. Clue has been repping hard since the 90's with classics like The Professional Series, DJ Clue for President and (what we have today) the Cluemanatti series. When it comes to Clue theres two things that can't be argued. His head is mad large, and the mixtapes are retardiclous, and remember... If its Tuesday its gotta be hood.

Rap On Headphones 8

So after months of overcast skies and chilly weather it's time for the summer kick off! What better way to do it then being a total nerd and listening to rap music on your headphones? The first track by New York local Cool Calm Pete just screams summer. Blu's 'show me the good life' sounds like night time with no traffic on the 405. Ex Antipop Consortium members M sayyid and high Priest were always ahead of their time. All of this electro rap that everyone thinks is so ground breaking was already explored by these two. This track is no exception..it's fucking great. Other notable tracks, Prince Po killing it 'Last of the Greats' from Percee P's solo album(finally..right?). An odd track is 3rd Bass' Prime Minister Pete Nice's "Rich Bring 'Em Back" featuring a very young Alex "The Worm King" also known as Cage of 'Movies for the Blind' fame. Not an exceptional track but notable at least. Anyways I ramble. hope you enjoy.

WU-OOH

Heres the music vid for that new Wu-Tang track I included in The Full Clip mix from not too long ago.

Video is alright. But its fresh to see that these dudes still dress like its the 90s. Yellow hooded leather jacket?! Rae looks like he lost a little weight too.

"Video Features Cameos from MoeRoc, Mad Linkx, Alchemist, Kay, Poppa Wu & Ice Water. "New Wu" is the First Single from Raekwon's Highly Anticipated Only Build For Cuban Links 2 [OB4CL2] In Stores August 11, 2009. "

French Hipster Explosion: Andre Vs. Cazals

French label Kitsune's heart throb band, Cazals, and graffiti hottie Andre teamed up to make a beautiful video with Lou Dillon.

Happy (Belated) Cinco De Hood Tuesday

I had something already ready for this Tuesday, but as I was walking home I saw shit tons of wasted frat boys, socially minded drunkies and various other vagrants of spanish decent stumbling around like it was St. Patties. Almost. Its St. Patties for the lefties and non-profit workers, Cinco De Mayo. A lot of people celebrate this mediocre-ly important holiday in Mexico due to the false belief that May 5th is Mexico's Independence Day. Not true. Thats September 16th.
Heres a bunch of songs by some real Mexican Chicanos. Warning, It doesn't get much more West Coasty than this. P.S. I threw in some Cypress cause he's the one of these dudes yhall might have heard of and despite his Cuban half, the other half is 100% Puro. R.I.P. Pun.
