Endless Bummer Mix
I was walking down my block and ran into an old co-worker of mine. He is rare record collector/seller, I'm talking about a serious collection. Anyways, running into him reminded me that he gave me some great untitled songs a few years back so I thought I'd share. If you figure out who they're by and what they're titled. I'll give you a prize.

Proof of Concept
It's gonna get weird having fake crab scratching going on over fake djing while fake slumming it in williamswick this summer.
regardless of that though this is a cool app.

Arabian Prince
I heard the 'Arabian Prince & Egyptian Lover' do a set on the radio a couple weeks ago. They are really good. Music goes full circle...
Enjoy.

Sex Shooter
Shooting love in your direction.
I have a weird rule about liking people. one is that if you would watch purple rain and/or harold and maude on a regular basis...you're rad. I'd marry you, divorce you, remarry you just to make sure I've got the whole experience before settling in and spending the rest of our awesome lives together.

Slow News Day: Beat Theft
At least the Timbaland beat for Nelly Furtado "Do It", the Amiga original and Janne "Tempest" Suni's "Acidjazz Evening" was at least an interesting conversation...
I honestly...don't care...but...whatever it's a slow newsday. last time I checked it was called sampling... most rap music is based on that premise.
NEON SUMMER: A Summer Mixtape
A friend of mine made this mix the other day. Summer road trip music. "This mix is meant to be listened to while driving around in the heat of a summer’s day: shades on, the not-so-cooling A/C on full blast, warm wind blowing at your face, elbow leaning against the hot glass window, sweat collecting underneath your thighs."

enjoy.

Lean Back
Apparentley me and Mr. Kiji had the same idea. A few jams for while you're grilling hams. Music to impress friends while staring at rear ends maybe? Either way there is nothing I like more than quality back round music while drinking lukewarm beers. May your beers be cold and the jams of pleasant volume.

The Ambassador of Boogie Funk
Known as Los Angeles' "Ambassador of Boogie Funk," dãm-funk represents the citizens of the Funkmosphere. Headquartered in the Culver City section of L.A., dãm (pronounced: 'Dame' as in Damon) spent the last few years cultivating a musical renaissance rooted in the early-'80s styles known as Boogie, Modern Soul and Electro-Funk.
As a DJ/selector, dãm attracts the most discerning Boogie Funk afficionados within driving distance of his storied Monday-night Funkmosphere parties. But it's not just collectors at the bar toasting to the melodic sounds. Anyone who grooves to the likes of Slave, Aurra, early Prince, Prelude Records and the like, will get a dose of those groups' unknown contemporaries – more obscure but equally Funk-worthy.
The next phase of the Ambassador's mission: continuing the classic West Coast tradition into today's scene with dãm's own original "Modern-Funk" compositions. By plugging in his arsenal of vintage synths and drum machines, dãm channels the galactic harmonies of his inspiration into his own brand of new boogie. Stones Throw Records' like-minded honcho Peanut Butter Wolf brought dãm on to the team to glide into the future with his unique, synth and bass-driven vibe. It's a promising new chapter for Southern Cali space funk. via STONESTHROW RECORDS
Spark one up, dim the lights, grab a glass of your favorite poison, snuggle with your boo, sit back and relax... BBC MIX for your listening pleasure HERE. You will not be disappointed.

It's Muggy So Don't Mug Me
It's finally that time! The weather is about to hit just in time for the Fourth! With that being said I compiled some tracks that fit the mood of weekend BBQs, that moist feeling that won't go away and great times with friends on rooftops.

Menahan Street Band
The Menahan Street Band came out with their album "Make The Road By Walking" last year, but I wanted to put this up for everyone else to catch if you haven't heard it already.
DOWNLOAD
And a blurb about the band:
"The Menahan Street Band is a collaboration of musicians from Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, El Michels Affair, Antibalas and the Budos Band, brought together by musician/producer Thomas Brenneck (Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Budos Band, Amy Winehouse) to record hits in the bedroom of his Menahan St. apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn. With influences reaching beyond the funk/soul/afrobeat architecture of their other projects into the more ethereal realms of Curtis Mayfield and Mulatu Astatke, the Menahan Street Band creates a unique new instrumental soul sound that is as raw as it is lush. Their debut album, Make the Road by Walking will be released on Dunham Records, Brenneck's new imprint of Daptone Records, a joint venture devoted to bringing the Menahan Street sound from Brenneck's bedroom out into the world."
